Pontiac Firebird 1968 for GTA San Andreas

Originally, this car was a "prize" for reassuring Pontiac, who wanted to produce a superior sports car of their own design based on his concept of Banshee. But General Motors is afraid that in that case a direct domestic competition with Chevrolet Corvette. As a result, it was decided to give Pontiac a common platform with the Chevrolet, named F-body. A little upset because of this decision, top management, Pontiac took the base and began to remodel both in terms of design and engineering solutions. the base model Firebird came with six inline engine (I-6) with a system of variable valve OHC (Overhead camshaft). This it is the most widespread in the automotive industry and is well known to Russian motorist, as used in the engines of Avtovaz. The engine was powered by odnokamernogo CARB. The next model Sprint was četyrehkamernym carburetor and developing 215 HP (160 kW). But, mostly, buyers preferred format engines V8 5.3 liter capacity: double carburetor issuing 250 horsepower (180 kW); H.O. model» (High Output/High output) with četyrehkamernym carburetor rated at 285 HP (213 kW); or the engine volume 6.6 liters (400 H.O.) derived from a model GTO with 325 HP (242 kW). In 1968, the 400 H.O. engine also offered optional Ram Air, which includes functional air intakes on the bonnet, low-resistance intake system, stiffer valve springs, according to modified camshaft. While this option does not add capacity, but its peak was higher turnovers.
